I will be working hard over the next few months to make Regalia nibs available through my webstore.

At present, each nib is individually made by hand, leading to an extremely limited number of pieces produced during any run. I wanted to reward people who are as passionate about fountain pens as I am, who are also willing to dedicate the time to travel across the country to a pen show, for no other reason but to be closer to the hobby we love. These are the people I wish to reward the most.

However, I understand that not everyone can make it to a show, so I'll do my best to secure a future where people can get a piece of the pen show, without having to leave their home.

About Regalia

“Necessity is the mother of invention.”

Regalia Writing Labs was born from a desire to see more unique and interesting writing experiences from fountain pens currently being produced today, and to see more interesting nibs used in the incredible works by artisans of custom, handmade pens.

[Temporary summary story till I can work on this part properly lol]

Decades ago they made really damn good nibs, and interesting ones too. Factory stubs and italics. I don’t even have to mention flex.

Then you got this guy Nobuyoshi Nagahara, right? From the Sailor Pen Company? Just within the last two decades, he created a myriad of nibs the world had never seen. Dude was stacking 21K gold nibs on top of each other every which way, allowing for ways to write I could only dream of.

And dream I did.

I dreamt of good flex. I dreamt of owning one of the Great Nagahara nibs.

But I was broke (edit: still broke). I’m very much a broke college student currently and can’t see a time when I could possibly afford such nibs, especially considering how much they increase in value with each passing year. So, I tried making them myself, relentlessly, and somehow it worked out. Admittedly, I still have a ton to learn and much to improve, but I genuinely enjoy using the things I’ve created, and felt it would be somewhat selfish to keep them all to myself.

So, I guess Regalia is my way of sharing the crazy things I discovered along the way with all of you.
